How to Shop For a Mattress

Friday, 29 August 2008 01:57 by robertkgaudet

If you are shopping for a mattress at your local store, then there is one thing that you have to do before you get that mattress, and that is to try it out. They say that the best way to try a mattress is to lay down on it for about 15 minutes. See how it feels, and see if you start to get very stiff while laying on that bed. Pay attention if you have to keep shifting your weight around or if you feel a lot of pressure on certain parts of your body. If you can not lay on it for 15 minutes without having to move around to get comfortable, then how are you going to sleep on this mattress every night for 8 hours or more for the next 10 years? It is just not going to happen. Buying a mattress online is a good idea, because it gets shipped to your house. However, they suggest going around and trying some mattresses first before you choose to go ahead and buy online.

Living With a Worn Out Mattress

Friday, 29 August 2008 01:51 by robertkgaudet

They say that most people in the world are living with mattresses that are worn out. Over years of use, your mattress is going to start to break down; that is just a fact. The best solution is to go out and get a new mattress, but let's face it, not all of us can afford to go out and get a new mattress every time one of the mattresses starts to show signs of aging. The good news is that you can do a few things that could help you get the most out of your mattress before it finally does bite the dust. The best thing that you can do is to flip the mattress over. Doing this will actually get the sag out of a sagging bed. However, keep in mind this is just a quick fix. This is nothing that is going to last forever. The more you flip it, the less amount of time that trick is going to work for. Soon you will notice that you have to flip your mattress every night to keep the sag out of it. If that is the case, then yes, you need a new mattress!

Memory Foam Mattresses Cause You to Sweat Less

Friday, 29 August 2008 01:48 by robertkgaudet

One reason why people have to replace their mattresses all the time is because bacteria builds up in it so fast. That has to do with the fact that while we are sleeping, we sweat, and we sweat a lot! The water helps promote build up of different bacteria while you sleep. That means there is stuff living in your mattress. However, with memory foam mattresses, they keep your skin temperature cooler, which means you sweat less. Thus, there is going to be less build up of bacteria in your mattress, and you will have to change it out less. This is something that you can not get from the current mattress you are sleeping on. If you are one of the millions of people around the world that feel they get too hot while they are sleeping, then you have to get one of these memory foam mattresses. It could be a cool solution for a hot problem.

Things to Watch Out For When Getting a Mattress

Friday, 29 August 2008 01:47 by robertkgaudet

When it comes time to buy your new mattress, how do you know when you are getting a good deal and when you are getting ripped off? Well, people are always looking for the lowest priced mattress, but when it comes to mattresses, a lot of times you get what you pay for. A few things that you should look for is to make sure that you get a mattress with at least 390 coils (if you get a coil mattress). Not only that, but you may want to stay away from mattresses that are under $800 when they are at least a queen size or bigger. Any mattress that falls below these two standers, you can bet that the mattress is going to be kind of weak and may not last that long. Now, there are always exceptions to the rules, but they are very far and few between. Keep that in mind while you are out looking for mattresses so that you do not get ripped off.

Wool Covers For Your Mattresses

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:55 by robertkgaudet

Most of the time, you do not get any kind of topper on your mattress, you just get the mattress. However, a lot of companies are starting to add wool toppers to their mattresses. Of course, the only problem with that is, people do not understand why. It has to do with the fact that wool can actually take moisture away, thus, keeping your body cooler and not letting sweat build up in your mattress. You can normally take these wool toppers off to be washed, thus, allowing you to keep your memory foam mattress or any kind of mattress clean for years to come. Some people think that they add the wool toppers to the beds just to make them look pretty and for a bit extra softness. However, that is not the case. Sure it does make the top of the mattress a bit softer, but that is not the main reason why they choose to use wool.

When Should You Replace Your Mattress

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:53 by robertkgaudet

Everyone knows that you are supposed to replace your mattress every few years. However, how many years is that? Well, they say that you should replace your mattress every ten years. By that time, the mattress is pretty worn out and could be affecting the way you sleep at night. After all, in ten years, you will have spent at least 29,000 hours sleeping on your bed! Keep in mind, the older you get, the sooner you should replace your mattress. In fact, they say that you may want to think about replacing your mattress every five years if you have back pains all the time. A worn out mattress puts a lot of pressure on certain points of the body. Normally, we sleep in about the same spot of the bed every night. Thus, that spot gets worn down, and it leaves us with a pretty rough night of sleep. It's something that you do not have to put up with, and you can fix it with a new mattress.

Why Got With Memory Foam Mattresses

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:51 by robertkgaudet

With all the different mattresses out there today, why is everyone talking so much about memory foam mattresses? This has to do with the fact that you can get a better night sleep on a memory foam mattress. Mostly, that is because of the zero pressure points. There are no coils that are pushing back up against you all night. The mattress actually forms to fit your body and gives you support where you need it most. They say that having no pressure points can actually help to improve the blood circulation throughout your whole body. In other words, you are going to be living a more enjoyable life just because of a mattress! However, these are not just any mattresses. They are memory foam mattresses, and they are the answer to anyone that has a hard time sleeping at night. If you still feel tired in the morning, then you may be one of those people that need to think about getting one of these mattresses.

What’s living in Your Mattress

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:48 by robertkgaudet

They say that you need to replace your mattress every few years. However, a lot of people do not, and that is because their mattress is not sagging, so they think it's fine. The truth of the matter is that you need to get a new mattress, because there are different kinds of bacteria that start growing and living in your mattress. They say that the average person pours gallons of sweet into their mattress every year! That is not something that you want to have to sleep on. You can help keep your mattress cleaner, longer by getting it cleaned. However, you are never going to be able to remove all of the bacteria from your mattress. Can you remember the last time you changed your mattress? If you can not, then it could be time to start looking into getting a new one. After all, a clean nights sleep is a happy nights sleep! Keep that in mind the next time you lay down to go to bed.

A Mattress Warranty - How to Use Them

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:46 by robertkgaudet

When it comes to your mattress, you may think that you are safe if you have a mattress warranty. However, there are a lot of things that you need to know about your mattress warranties before you think you are safe. First of all, that goofy looking tag that's on your mattress has to stay on it. If you take that off, then you void the warranty right away. So do not take that off no matter how much it bothers you. Also, keep in mind that your mattress has to sag more than a inch and a half to be considered for a warranty. Yes, the mattress companies come out and measure your bed to see how much it's sagging. Last, but not least, if there is a stain on the mattress, warranty is void. So before you have someone come out and look at it, make sure you have it cleaned. Do whatever you can to make sure you get the stains out of that mattress.
