When Should You Replace Your Mattress

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:53 by robertkgaudet

Everyone knows that you are supposed to replace your mattress every few years. However, how many years is that? Well, they say that you should replace your mattress every ten years. By that time, the mattress is pretty worn out and could be affecting the way you sleep at night. After all, in ten years, you will have spent at least 29,000 hours sleeping on your bed! Keep in mind, the older you get, the sooner you should replace your mattress. In fact, they say that you may want to think about replacing your mattress every five years if you have back pains all the time. A worn out mattress puts a lot of pressure on certain points of the body. Normally, we sleep in about the same spot of the bed every night. Thus, that spot gets worn down, and it leaves us with a pretty rough night of sleep. It's something that you do not have to put up with, and you can fix it with a new mattress.

What’s living in Your Mattress

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:48 by robertkgaudet

They say that you need to replace your mattress every few years. However, a lot of people do not, and that is because their mattress is not sagging, so they think it's fine. The truth of the matter is that you need to get a new mattress, because there are different kinds of bacteria that start growing and living in your mattress. They say that the average person pours gallons of sweet into their mattress every year! That is not something that you want to have to sleep on. You can help keep your mattress cleaner, longer by getting it cleaned. However, you are never going to be able to remove all of the bacteria from your mattress. Can you remember the last time you changed your mattress? If you can not, then it could be time to start looking into getting a new one. After all, a clean nights sleep is a happy nights sleep! Keep that in mind the next time you lay down to go to bed.

A Mattress Warranty - How to Use Them

Monday, 11 August 2008 20:46 by robertkgaudet

When it comes to your mattress, you may think that you are safe if you have a mattress warranty. However, there are a lot of things that you need to know about your mattress warranties before you think you are safe. First of all, that goofy looking tag that's on your mattress has to stay on it. If you take that off, then you void the warranty right away. So do not take that off no matter how much it bothers you. Also, keep in mind that your mattress has to sag more than a inch and a half to be considered for a warranty. Yes, the mattress companies come out and measure your bed to see how much it's sagging. Last, but not least, if there is a stain on the mattress, warranty is void. So before you have someone come out and look at it, make sure you have it cleaned. Do whatever you can to make sure you get the stains out of that mattress.

Is A Memory Foam Mattress Good For Fibromyalgia Sufferers?

Tuesday, 13 May 2008 01:42 by robertkgaudet

If you have Fibromyalgia, then you may want to know if there anything out there that can help you. The truth of the matter is yes! Memory foam mattresses have been proven to be a big help to people that suffer from Fibromyalgia. So what is Fibromyalgia? This is a condition in which the muscles never shut down. They are like your local Wal-Mart, they are running 24 hours a day. This gives you a very poor quality of sleep. So how can a foam mattress help you?

It has been shown that sleeping on a mattress that gives you poor quality of support actually makes your muscles shift a lot during the night. This can actually keep them from getting to the most relaxing stage of sleep. So do your poor aching back muscles a favor, and get yourself a memory foam mattress. You will thank yourself in the morning. After all, all the muscles in your body need a break at some point during the night.

Mattresses for Allergy Sufferers in Your Family

Sunday, 11 May 2008 16:20 by robertkgaudet

A lot of people suffer from bad allergies, and there is no better place for these allergies to hide than in your mattress. However, they do make some mattresses that are allergy friendly to better server those people that do suffer from allergies while they are sleeping. There are two different types of allergy mattresses. The first one is the kind that can repel allergies. This means that when Fluffy the cat jumps up on your bed, this mattress will hold on to less pet hair than other mattresses. This goes for pollen as well.

The other kind of mattress is the one that is made of all allergy safe products. This means that the stuff that they use to make the mattress is going to be 100% allergy safe. So now the family member of yours that is allergic to everything, has a place to sleep! There are some mattresses that are helpful, but then there are some that just flat out solve problems, and these solve problems!

What are the Different Mattress Sizes?

Sunday, 11 May 2008 16:15 by robertkgaudet

This is a question that a lot of people ask. In fact, a lot of people do not even know what mattress is the biggest. Well, that is a question we are going to put to bed right now (no pun intended). First of all, there is the twin mattress, also known as the single. This is what you see mist little kids sleeping on. Then there is the twin extra long, this is what “big” kids sleep on. Usually you see these in colleges where the kids have to share a room that is not very big. They need a mattress that is longer, and the twin extra long is just that. The next is a double bed, sometimes called a full. The best thing about these beds is that they are bigger than twins, and the sheets still cost less than a queen mattress.

The next size is the queen (if you did not already see that coming). After that you are followed by the king mattress. These beds are very, very big. Last, but not least, you have the California King bed which is 12” longer than a normal king.

Queen Mattress

Sunday, 11 May 2008 16:12 by robertkgaudet

A queen mattress is a perfect mattress for someone that needs more room. Let’s face it, sometimes a double just is not big enough for two people. That is where the queen mattress comes in. This will allow you and your partner to have tons of room while you are sleeping. If you do not have someone that sleeps with you at night, then you will have so much room, there will be little to no chance that you are going to roll off in the middle of the night. Although a queen is not the biggest (after all, the next size up is called a king), it does offer tons of room.

The only problem with getting a queen mattress is that it's going to be very picky about the type of sheets you put on it. You will only be able to get queen size sheets, and they cost more money, because it costs more to make them. This is not something that a lot of people think about, because most of the time, when people are buying things to wear, the bigger sizes cost the same as the smaller sizes. Just like those little thongs that the girls wear cost just as much or even more as normal innerwear. It's crazy, because there is no fabric there (come on, it's just a little string, $20 is highway robbery!). However, with sheets for your mattress it's a little different. Either way, the queen mattress is still the way to go.
